Tim's Notes:

Hunting Style: You'll be predator calling but primarily waiting to ambush the wolves much like that of a deer drive. However much more strategic. The guides will be hauling you around remote bush with snowmobiles. Frozen lakes and rivers are comon places to ambush the wolves. That's where I killed my wolf. I also missed 2 others because I shoot a gun poorly. One of those two was 300 yards the other was 50 yards. Missed again, darnett. In most cases, the guides find fresh tacks and follow the wolves. Meanwhile you are trying to cut the wolves off. You can gun or bow hunt them. Take a gun! It's exciting because there is always a wolf on the run. A great hunt to do with friends. In my book, if you kill one, it's a trophy above all others. The adventure is a 5 day hunt, Monday to Friday.

Weather: Cold as it gets! Prepare for 30 below to 20 above. Wear water proof outer wear.

Camp: The lodge is a bed and breakfast where you stay with your guides. Very nice with all the amenities. Lots of wolf decor, TV, internet etc.

Food: The best home cooked meals you could ask for.The desserts are awesome.

Guides: Crazy, fun, happy and helpful. They know wolves and can predict their movements. You'll like em, the guides that is, but you'll love to hate the wolves.

Cost: $2250 plus tag. Limit 2 wolves. $1000 for the second. A $500 deposit required to book your hunt.

Success Rate: On my hunt, 5 hunters got a total of 7 shots at different wolves. We killed 2 wolves, fox and coyotes. Should have killed 4 wolves. Annual average is about 60 percent shot opportunity, which is the best anywhere in the world.

Season Dates: December through March and it's all good.

Location: Central Ontario along the Kap River.
