Hunting Style: This is a slam dunk 3 day gun hunt and as alway a bit more challenging for the bow hunter but the best place in florida for success. My
daughter just killed her first oceola from a tree stand while bow hunting axis. She's 11 years old. Lots of birds gobbling and lots of mature toms. The guides will call your birds in for you or let you do everything. It's up to you. The country is beautiful and theres lots of other stuff to hunt if you kill out early. this is where all the grand slam birds get wacked. Never seen a snake.
Weather: 5 to hell hot.
Camp: The lodge is one of the nicest I've been in at a turkey kamp. Beautiful mounts and numerous animals feeding in the lodges front yard. it's new but rustic and sit back in the woods. Bring your wife. There's a beautiful casino 2 miles up the road in the middle of no where.
Food: Full time cook. She's good too. Four coarse meals at night. Sack lunch if youhunt all day but usually we came in for the great hotlunches. Hot breakfasts if you'd like.
Guides: They are the best. Young, 20s but good. Patient and persistent. They may like the hunt more than you. You'll make new friends.
Cost: $2250 per bird. You can also hunt axis hog gator water bufalo and hogs.
Success Rate: 100 percent shot opportunity with a gun and bow hunters are 80 percent.
