Hunting Style: Kansas is by far the easiest place to kill a big whitetail during the rut. This hunt is located in central Kansas where the terrain is for the most part open. You'll hunt river bottoms and creeks. There's lots of good bucks in that 150 range although I nearly shot a 180. You can bait, rattle, or ambush during the rut in which all work nicely. These deer seem somewhat dumb to me. They decoy easy and love the call. Deer stands are set up great on pinch points mostly with ideal vantage points for calling and decoying. I never killed but could have shot multiple 3 year old bucks. I have two locations that are ideal for the gun or bow hunter. Thisi is a nice 6 day hunt.
Weather: Can rain or snow with wind. 20-85 degrees F.
