Tim's Notes: Black Buck

Hunting Style: There is not a more beautiful antelope species than the Black Buck. I have a black buck in my trophy room on a pedistal and the black buck draws more attention than my 200 inch whitetails. Not only beautiful but a blast to hunt. These guys are fun to hunt because of the challenge. They like open country and have extreme eyesight to go with their natural fear of predation. I've taken black buck by spot and stalk and from ground blinds. You could be successful either way. When bow hunting plan for a full 3 to 5 day hunt. Rifle hunts you're good in 1 to 3 days. My wife took this young buck in the video at 50 yards after missing the first shot. Thats rare getting two shots but the wind was howling. Long shots are common for spot and stalk but ground blinds can give point blank shots. They're a lot like the North American antelope when it comes to ground blinds. if you fail to kill you can always use a gun. It's an easy hunt for a rifle hunter, for they seem to be ok with you watching them from 300 yards. It's located on a 2000 acre ranch, so they have no problem elluding you.
